The Secrets Men Keep From Women
Think you know what’s going on in your man’s head? Think again.
Men are simple souls; they eat, sleep, drink beer, and get childishly
excited about football and fast cars. That’s what they want you to think, anyway.
In fact, beneath that simple exterior lies a seething mass of secret thoughts,
feelings, passions, and desires. Men keep theses secrets from women for two
reasons: to stay out of trouble, and because they don’t know how to explain
them without sounding like blithering idiots.
Find out what man is thinking secretly, but would never tell you:
1- Sometimes, he has no idea what you’re talking about
Women talk about their feelings as a way of communicating,
whereas men are more practical and want to find answers. Sometimes, women don’t
want solutions, they just want men to listen to them, but men need a specific
problem to solve or they get confused and overloaded, it’s that Mars and Venus
thing – sometimes, men and women are talking a completely different language.
2- He is jealous of your male friends
Men just don’t believe that male-female friendships can ever
be entirely innocent. Men are more jealous than women.
3- He is terrified of you turning into your mother
When they look at your mom, they see you in 20 yeas’ time,
and if your mother is a bit, well, difficult, that idea hardly fills him with
glee.
4- He hates that you earn more than him
It maybe the 21th century and women might be outstripping men
in some fields, but it doesn’t mean he likes it. When it comes to money, even
the newest of new men still feel they should bring home the crumb. This can be
an issue if the woman is earning significantly more. It’s important for men to
be a good provider, as this is central to men’s identity. That’s because they
need to feel respected. They also think that if they don’t provide for the
needs of their partner, they will disappear and there is truth in that, because
love is not unconditional.
5- He is scared of commitment, even if he’s made one
He might have mentioned the “M” word, but a part of his brain
is still working on excuses to flee. Men don’t like feeling pressurised. They will never be completely relaxed about the pace
of a relationship and women often drive relationships along. He may think there’s
someone cuter just around the corner, so he might have doubts about committing
to you. But he knows that making those doubts overt will lead to disaster, so
he will keep quiet about them.
6- He does look at other women
It’s very important for men to see themselves as sexual
creatures – if you feel like you’ve hung up your hat, so to speak, you feel
less of a man. They are also very visual creatures, so looking at a pretty girl
is part of what makes the world go round. But it doesn’t mean they want to
sleep with her, it’s more like looking at a work of art.
7- He never wants to grow up
This may not be the most shattering revelation, but inside
every man is a twenty-something boy, living off burgers and laddish banter. Some
men never change; they might be 70 and still going out with their mates on a
Friday evening. But men are also scared of getting old because it means losing
strength and virility.
8- Sometimes he fakes it too
One of the biggest myths about men is that they’re always ready for sex
at the drop of a hat. But there’s growing evidence that, like women, men are
often too tired, stressed, or distracted. Women think men are always up for it
and they only have to say the word, then off they go,. Not many men explain
just how much of an anxiety this is for them. And most women have concluded
that men are sometimes just too tired, or they’ve got a lot on their mind so
they fake it. But, like a woman, they would never own up to it.
